Welcome to the Rutland Historical Society

The Wood House, located at 232 Main Street, Rutland Massachusetts, has been home to the Society for 28 years and until 2002 shared space with the Rutland Police Department. The Wood House was built in 1915 by Mrs. Sadie Morris and was willed to the Town of Rutland by Hazel Hanff Morris Wood in 1975.

NOTICE: RHS is now accepting applications for the Edmund and Freda Kelsey Memorial Scholarship.  The scholarship is offered to any Rutland high school senior planning to enter college who has resided in town for at least two years. The award is based on scholarship with emphasis given to involvement and contributions in the areas of both school and community.  Applicants should submit the common scholarship application, obtained from their guidance office, with an official transcript, SAT/ACT scores and a letter of recommendation by May 1, 2013.
