RHS Plans Holiday Events for the Entire Family.
The Rutland Historical Society is excited to kick off the Holiday Season with its 8th Annual Festival of Trees and More with activities throughout the weekend of December 4 – 6, 2009
The Festival begins on Friday evening, December 4th at 7:30 PM with a holiday concert by the Merrimack Valley Ringers followed by a Brownie Sundae Social at the
First Congregational Church ($5 suggested donation).
Saturday December 5, 2009 – 4-8 PM
The spectacular Festival of Trees and More opens at 4PM in the Rutland Public Library, 280 Main Street (Rt. 122 A), Rutland (no admission charge). Decorated Trees, Wreaths, and so much more will put you in the holiday spirit. We are still looking for individuals, businesses, and groups of friends to display a tree or a homemade gingerbread house. Call for details.
Right near by in the Old Fire Barn, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the Elves will be in his magical winter wonderland – Bring your camera and visit with Santa and friends. (no admission charge-donations welcome)
A Friendship Supper will be served from 5:00 – 7:30 PM at the Congregational Church ($5 donation/ children 6 and under free).
Our HUGE Town Common Tercentenary Tree (Rt. 122A) will be lit at 6:30 PM – a program will follow in St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland, MA.
Sunday December 6, 2009 – 1-4 PM
On Sunday, December 6th, the festivities continue from 1:00 to 4:00 PM with The Festival of Trees at the Library and Santa in his Magic House at the Old Fire Barn. Also during this time there will be rides on an Antique Fire Truck at the Old Fire Barn and Horse and Wagon Rides in front of the Library.
