Community Service

The Society does various activities for the community. Tours of the building are conducted, explaining our collections to the Brownies, Girls Scouts and Boy Scout Troops of Rutland. We have been invited to the elementary schools to speak to students We have assisted many Boy Scouts to help them attain their Eagle Scout rank. We award an annual scholarship of $500 to a graduating high school Senior We conduct several Open Houses each year. We offer diverse and nonprofit historical programs throughout the year for the public. We assist the Town Library with its History Room and have items on loan there.
