The Society does various activities for the community.
- Tours of the building are conducted, explaining our collections to the Brownies, Girls Scouts and Boy Scout Troops of Rutland.
- We have been invited to the elementary schools to speak to students
- We have assisted many Boy Scouts to help them attain their Eagle Scout rank.
- We award an annual scholarship of $500 to a graduating high school Senior
- We conduct several Open Houses each year.
- We offer diverse and nonprofit historical programs throughout the year for the public.
- We assist the Town Library with its History Room and have items on loan there.
- We have contributed and coordinated the restoration of the Old Burial Ground.
